Title IX and VAWA-Campus SaVE Act Resource Collection

Available Resources

On July 12, 2022, the Department of Education (ED) published new proposed regulations related to Title IX that will govern how educational institutions conduct inquiries into allegations of sex discrimination, including student sexual misconduct.

After the public notice and comment period ends on Sept. 12, 2022, ED will review the comments and consider revising the proposed regulations. Any new Title IX regulations only would take effect after final publication in the Federal Register. Given the expected high volume of comments and possible court challenges, a long wait may be in store.

In the interim, continue complying with the current regulations and consult with legal counsel before making any changes to policies or practices.

View the new proposed Title IX regulations and read a United Educators (UE) article that summarizes the regulations’ major provisions.

Also use the resources below to understand the current regulations, the problem of student sexual misconduct, and practices for preventing and responding.
