About UE
United Educators (UE) is education’s answer to the distinct risks and opportunities faced by K-12 schools, colleges, and universities.
The policy typically provides coverage for the institution as well as its trustees, directors, and officers. At the institution’s option, the policy also covers employees, volunteers, and, in some circumstances, students and interns, acting within the scope of their duties or obligations to the institution.
Subject to the policy’s terms and conditions, the ELL policy’s wrongful acts coverage protects against a range of potential claims involving educational institutions including:
Discrimination
Educator’s professional errors and omissions
Employment practices
Retaliation
Employment sexual harassment
Tenure denial
Title IX
FAQs
Worldwide protection is even more critical as educators and students expand geographic footprints. ELL lawsuits don’t have to be filed in U.S. courts.
An extensive risk management library and personalized advisory services are available to UE members. From online training to claims studies and webinars, the resources report on topics such as sexual assault prevention and response, concussion management, and study abroad.
Risk Management Premium Credit (RMPC) program enables eligible members carrying an ELL or general liability (GL) policy to earn a credit toward their premium by participating in specific risk management activities.
ProResponse® crisis response benefit is a supplemental program available to qualifying K-12 and higher education members with UE’s GL and ELL coverage and to public school districts with UE’s school board legal liability (SBL) and public school liability (PSL) coverage. Coverage must have been in place both on the date the underlying event occurred and the date that the triggering circumstances arose, depending on the benefit sought.
Seamless coverage is an added endorsement which provides coordinated coverage for hybrid claims — incidents that result in allegations that trigger claims in both an ELL and GL policy.
To apply for coverage, email the completed UE application, six-year carrier loss runs, and the institution’s most recent audited financials to your territory manager.
