About This Checklist

Based on recommendations from the U.S. Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC), United Educators' (UE's) checklist for K-12 schools can help ensure that your student threat assessment process is well-equipped to identify and address student behavior that might pose a threat of violence.

Use this checklist to establish a new threat assessment process or to evaluate the effectiveness of an existing process.

Topics include:

  • Creating a safe school climate
  • Forming a threat assessment team
  • Transmitting information to the team.
  • Assessing reported information
  • Intervention and management

[Online Course] Targeted Campus Violence: Recognize the Warning Signs
