United Educators (UE) is committed to protecting public school communities through education-specific insurance, and a proactive approach to risk management and crisis response.
Our liability coverage agreements, which reflect over three decades of experience working with K-12 schools, combine public school liability (PSL) and school board legal liability (SBL). We can also offer SBL as a stand-alone policy. Our policies address the specific concerns of public school districts and boards of education, providing coverage for the school, trustees, superintendents, officers, employees, student teachers, volunteer workers and, in some circumstances, students and interns.
Through EduRisk®, members have access to a comprehensive suite of resources including risk management advice and interactive online courses to address risks involving students, staff, buildings and grounds, volunteers, and transportation.
ProResponse, our crisis response benefit, offers immediate assistance should a school or district need expert services to navigate tragic circumstances. And, as a result of examining thousands of public school claims, our expert claims team is prepared to efficiently address and resolve even the most challenging issues.

Reinsurance

Public School Risk Management Services
UE’s risk consultants offer personalized answers to questions about issues at member institutions. They can provide tailored guidance on using EduRisk resources to prevent or work through a challenging situation.
Terrorism Coverage
UE's public school liability policies include coverage for acts of domestic terrorism. These policies cover hostile actions occurring in the United States, including its territories or possessions, or in Canada.
Worldwide Protection
True worldwide coverage means that lawsuits do not have to be brought in U.S. courts. UE has defended against overseas negligence suits brought by foreign nationals. Our worldwide protection is even more critical as educators and students increase their foreign travel.
