Alyssa oversees the development of UE’s risk management content and consulting initiatives, ensuring reliable and trustworthy guidance for our members. Her areas of expertise include campus sexual misconduct, Title IX, threat assessment, campus security, contracts, and risk transfer. She previously handled UE liability claims and held positions in the fields of education and insurance.

Dr. Gene Deisinger
President, Deisinger Consulting, LLC
Dr. Gene Deisinger, President of Deisinger Consulting, LLC, specializes in behavioral threat assessment, protective intelligence, and operational psychology. He has worked extensively with colleges and universities, notably serving as Deputy Chief of Police and Director of Threat Management Services at Virginia Tech following the 2007 mass casualty incident, and as Director of the Threat Management Team at Iowa State University. He wrote The Handbook for Campus Threat Assessment & Management Teams. Dr. Deisinger has consulted for hundreds of organizations, including serving as a subject matter expert for federal agencies and contributing to initiatives focused on campus safety, violence prevention, and threat management across academic environments. He earned his doctorate in psychology from Iowa State University. He is a licensed psychologist, a certified health service provider in psychology, and, until his retirement from law enforcement, was a certified law enforcement officer.
