Top Risks Report: Insights for K-12 Schools

Each year, United Educators' (UE's) independent and charter K-12 school members share their most pressing risks in the Top Risk Survey. This year’s survey reveals the self-reported top risks across the UE independent and charter K-12 membership and highlights changes since 2020-24.

Members also rated a set of emerging risks and offered proactive tactics to mitigate them.

• While Enrollment remains the top risk among K-12 independent and charter schools, Data Security reached its highest-ever ranking (second place).
• Sexual Misconduct, General Premises Safety, and Transportation increased since last year, suggesting schools are focusing risk management on student safety and well-being.
• Most respondents agreed Employee Well-Being is one of their top two emerging risks, far ahead of other options.
