United Educators Partners With Praesidium to Help Mitigate Abuse

Bethesda, Md., May 19, 2026 — United Educators (UE) has partnered with Praesidium to help strengthen the sexual misconduct prevention and response of K-12 schools, colleges, and universities. Eligible institutions that receive Praesidium Accreditation can earn insurance premium credit.

Praesidium Accreditation is a structured, research-informed process that helps education institutions embed abuse prevention into systems, culture, and daily operations. The process evaluates policies, screening, training, supervision, reporting, and leadership oversight, while also assessing implementation and institutional culture.

In an increasingly complex insurance environment, proactive risk management helps institutions identify evolving exposures and strengthen safety practices before issues arise.

“We continuously seek practical, innovative ways to help institutions strengthen abuse prevention practices,” said Sarah Braughler, Vice President of Risk Management for UE. “This partnership supports UE’s structured approach to helping members reduce education-specific risks and build safer learning environments.”

“Praesidium Accreditation provides schools and universities with a comprehensive, research-informed framework to proactively identify risk, strengthen safeguards, and build a culture of safety across campus,” said Aaron Lundberg, MSW, President and CEO at Praesidium. “We are proud to support UE members in advancing this critical work and demonstrating their commitment to protecting students and preserving trust.”

Praesidium will provide a discount for its service to UE members.

Eligible institutions reduce their premium through UE’s Risk Management Premium Credit (RMPC) program. For more information on how to apply and earn the UE premium credit, visit ue.org/RMPC.
