Business Insurance Honors United Educators As Finalist Nominee for Risk Management Team of the Year
Recognition of Innovative Incentive Program Successes
Bethesda, Md., July 20, 2023 — Based on its innovative incentive program, United Educators (UE) was honored as a finalist nominee for Risk Management Team of the Year by Business Insurance.
“Our team thinks creatively and strategically about education’s top risks,” said Sarah Braughler, UE’s Vice President of Risk Management.
At an award ceremony on July 19 in New York, Business Insurance recognized UE for its innovative Risk Management Premium Credit (RMPC) program.
UE’s RMPC program incentivizes institutions to use UE’s claims and risk management expertise to implement impactful mitigations on high-risk areas by offering up to 6% potential premium savings.
UE’s team analyzed claims and actuarial data, participation and satisfaction data, human capital optimization data, and member insights to identify programmatic improvements to the program. Innovations resulted in:
- Members completed 672 risk mitigation activities in 2022, compared to 424 in 2019
- 44% of participants implemented UE’s award-winning courses, training 30,000 learners
