United Educators Appoints Dana Hartz AVP of Finance
Bethesda, Md., Jan. 5, 2026 — United Educators (UE) has named Dana Hartz as Associate Vice President of Finance. She begins her role on Jan. 6.
Dana joins UE with extensive experience in accounting and financial reporting, including insurance company filings. She most recently spent nearly 10 years working for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including as head of Corporation Finance’s Knowledge Management Office. There, she was responsible for the day-to-day operations, strategy and leadership of the office.
Prior to that, she served as Director of External Financial Reporting for E*TRADE, a Senior Staff Accountant in the SEC’s Office of Life Sciences and Insurance, and a Senior Associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she audited insurance companies.
Dana earned a B.S. in Commerce, with a concentration in Accounting, from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce, and an MBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Delaware.
