Alicia Williams leads United Educators’ (UE’s) People and Culture initiatives, which are designed to position UE as an innovative workplace and employer positioned for sustainable growth as the leader in risk management and insurance products serving education. The Vice President of People and Culture role includes leadership of Human Resources and IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Alliance), a grassroots workplace change initiative.

Alicia joined UE in 2013. As a senior counsel in the Resolutions department’s Specialty Group, Alicia managed catastrophic injury and sexual misconduct litigation involving UE members in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. In 2021, Alicia was promoted to West Team Leader for the Comprehensive Group, where she led a team of analysts who manage personal injury and employment claims.

Prior to joining UE, Alicia was a trial and appellate litigator in Maryland and the District of Columbia. She began her legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Evelyn Omega Cannon.

Alicia attended North Carolina Central University as a Presidential Scholar. She graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2002.

Before law school, Alicia was a general assignment reporter at the Raleigh News & Observer.

She lives in Silver Spring, Md., with her husband and enjoys reading, travel, and strength training.
