K-12 Members Identify Top Risks: Risk Management Premium Credit Survey Results 2020-2021

Each year, United Educators (UE) asks its members about their top risks. This comparison of self-reported top risks has been created from 272 K-12 member schools from 2020-2021.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shaken the risk landscape for member schools. Enrollment is still the top risk, but the rest of the top 10 highlights an increase in operational risks. This year's report also breaks down the top 10 risks for boarding schools and day schools.

• Among the mitigation efforts for enrollment issues: Offer flexibility during the COVID-19 pandemic; review your tuition pricing model and financial aid strategy; and restructure admission staff and strategies.
• Among the mitigation efforts for COVID-19 and future pandemics: Develop school-wide public health response teams; follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state, and local public health
  guidelines; and transition to remote learning.
