Bethesda, MD (February 24, 2017)—United Educators (UE) Insurance, a Reciprocal Risk Retention Group (RRG), is expanding its seamless coverage endorsement to include clear protection for liability associated with police and security professionals.
The seamless coverage benefit, available to schools, colleges, or universities that carry both a general liability and educators legal liability policy with UE, provides coordination of coverage for claims that trigger both policies. Beginning on April 1, 2017, upon policy issuance, the seamless coverage endorsement provided to all qualifying members will specifically address these protections for actions of police or security staff:
The coverage addressed through the seamless coverage endorsement related to police professionals does not require underwriting and does not come with specific premium charges. It provides insurance up to the GL limit of liability.
“Some unfortunate incidents arising from unrest on campus brought this exposure to light for UE and our members,” said Bryan Elie, vice president of underwriting. “True to our mission, we continue to evolve our coverage to meet the needs of the educational institutions we insure.” Currently, nearly 1,300 schools, colleges, and universities rely on UE for liability insurance and risk management services. In addition to expanded coverage for police and security professionals, UE also recently augmented its general liability coverage to expand coverage for drone use on campus.
