United Educators looks to its contacts within the education community for general guidance on program directions, information on how liability and other issues impact institutions, and consultation on specific projects.

• The Risk Management Advisory Committee is the company’s primary source for that advice. The committee, appointed by the management of United Educators, represents the diversity of our membership and meets at least once a year. UE has also convened several ad hoc advisory committees, including a committee that worked with our staff for almost a year on the sexual harassment workshop and a committee that assisted in evaluating proposals submitted to the General Liability Risk Management Awards Program. Knowledgeable members of the education community and others with relevant expertise generally review monographs and other major projects.
  
  
• UE consults with and participates in meetings of advisory groups brought together by other departments, such as a Legal Advisory Committee established by the Claims Department.
  
  
• The Broker Advisory Committee and Broker Forum are convened by Business Development.
